Valentine assembly line is chugging on

I've been having a lot of fun today making my Valentine's Day cards! I'm really enjoying sewing on paper - I was terrified of it, still don't really have a clue what I'm doing, but I love it. And I finally broke out the Martha Stewart glitter and threw a wee bit on my cards this year. So much fun! (The one drawback being that there now seems to be glitter EVERYWHERE on my desk.)

I was also making a counted thread ornament but it's only a third done now - so it won't be finished in time for this year. WAH!

  1. Hi Sally! I'm just now getting to sit down and catch up with you. It's been one of those weeks. You are doing a fantastic job sewing on paper! We love that look, but haven't tried it yet. I love the family photos you shared and the note from your dad. How special. I can't wait to sit down and go through Monday's list of blogs. I just know I'm going to see several I like! Have a good evening! Twyla

  4. Oh wow - what a beautiful job you have done on that card! The stitches on the paper are a really pretty touch... and I'd never guess that there was any bit of uncertainty behind them at all!

  5. Hi Twyla!
Gosh, you guys are so busy over there on your blog - how sweet you two are to put in all that time and effort for all of us! Thank you for all your hard work and all the smiles that your Valentine celebration has brought!
You're so sweet, thank you, I'm having fun playing with the sewing machine. I feel very much like I'm flying by the seat of my pants, utterly out of control but none the less, enjoying it thoroughly.
Wishing you the happiest of Valentine's Days!

  6. Hi Pam!
I had so much fun with the glitter - I wasn't able to throw more on these cards, I had to get them into the post right away WAH! But when I did my husbands the next day, I threw lots more on! ;) Uh oh - I feel a new obsession coming on!!!
    Happy Valentines Day!

  7. Hi Lori!
Thank you, I had so much fun making my cards (and I used stuff I already had, no trips to the store WAHOO!).
I'm really enjoying using the machine on paper but I am so at a loss as to how to make the corners look nice???!!! I keep ending at a different place and the corners don't match. ARGH.
    Happy Valentines Day!

  8. Hi Stephanie!
OH! You're so sweet, thank you! I think I need to practice A LOT! But I'm still having lots of fun, even though I'm clueless. ;)
